Small Bathroom Remodel Part 1

Last week I mentioned plans for my little brother's master bathroom. We made those plans come to life over the long weekend. And now we're tired (Ike included!) but little brother has a pretty fantastic bathroom.
As a refresher, here's what we started with...
My brother called it his Kermit bathroom. It was definitely dated. And sort of dirty.
Nate, Ike and I played project managers. Some of us did better than others. Some of us were bribed more than others.
Nate and I gave my brother homework. The room needed to be demo'd and the tile floor needed to be installed. He accomplished it all in one week. Nate and I were impressed. We were also happy to not have to be around for that part. Gross.
The Tile Shop was kind enough to supply us with the Noir Hex Tile and charcoal grout.
The tile is awesome. It totally makes the room. My brother did a great job laying it. He spent one evening cutting and dry fitting the tile. The next night was spent installing. Then came grout. Lastly, he sealed the floor. The tile is travertine and needed to be protected. We're all pretty obsessed with this floor.
The next step was patching holes in the wall and priming.
We decided to paint the walls and ceiling all one color. The ceiling slopes into the wall so it was easier to paint the room one color. Little brother had originally planned on a charcoal color for the walls but we decided to go lighter after installing the floor. He chose Sherwin Williams Argos.
After the paint dried, Nate got to installing the trim and beadboard. The many corners made this process kind of a pain. I have a strong feeling beadboard will not be installed in our home in the near future. We finished this at 9:45 on Sunday night.
Maybe we shouldn't have quit so early the night before. But beer battered bacon.
We then had to caulk and paint the beadboard. Super fun. This was 8:30am on Monday morning. We had originally planned to leave by noon. Our time management skills were strong on this one. (We didn't end up leaving until 6:30pm for our 4 hour drive home. Oops.)
The room really came to life after the beadboard was completed. There was light at the end of the tunnel.
As much as it stunk to be inside during a fabulously warm weekend, the transformation was pretty rewarding.
What? I'm tired. ;)
Who misses that dirty green tile? Who's pumped for the reveal? Who thinks I'm nuts for being trapped in a tiny bathroom with my brother for 4 days? Me too.
